A Word from WABC President Chris Mullins for 2014-2015

Dear Westfield Bulldogs,

The 2014-15 school year is upon us and our Fall teams are underway with tryouts, practice and

preparation for another season of competition in the Concorde Conference and Northern Region. I

want to thank all those who have been part of the Westfield Athletic Booster Club (WABC) over the

past years and invite all to be part of the WABC organization. I also want to extend a “Welcome to

Westfield” message to our incoming Freshmen and transfers. We want you to be part of the WABC

family as well.

The WABC Board and Planning Committees have been hard at work planning our 2014-2015

calendar year as well as looking longer term in support of our Bulldogs. With your support,

investment in time, funding and spirit, our Bulldogs enjoy the benefits of being one of the top

Athletic/Activities programs in Virginia. Thank you!

Here is just a sample of what your financial support accomplished over the past few years:

• Turf Athletic Field on Main Stadium & Comfort Station

• Over $90,000 in Scholarships to Student Athletes

• Concession Stand & Landscaping Maintenance/Upgrades

• Scorers Table, Chairs & LAX Wall

• New Ice Machine For Concessions and Teams

• Picnic Tables, Soccer Goals, Field Hockey Goals

• Wrestling Mat, Cheer Mat & Misting Fan

• New Golf Cart/People Mover

• 2 Cooling Shade Tents for Athletic Training Staff

• Support for State Championship Rings-Girls Field Hockey & Lacrosse

See www.westfieldathletics.org for more details.

Our main focus in the upcoming year will be to purchase and install

new scoreboards for the Stadium, Baseball and Softball fields. The

Stadium scoreboard will feature enhanced graphics and all of the equipment

will have up-to-date, state-of-the-art wireless technology. For the last year, the

WABC has been working with Fairfax County on the purchase and installation plans for these new

scoreboards. This is a significant capital investment that is made possible by the wonderful support

our Westfield family and business partners in the community have provided. These scoreboards will

be a terrific enhancement to our beautiful athletic complex. The WABC will also continue to provide

important program support to all Bulldog teams as well as scholarships to graduating seniors in

the upcoming year. If you have ideas on how the Westfield Athletic Booster Club can support our

student athletes, please let us know.

Here is how we will achieve our goals:

We get there with the teamwork and support of the families of our Bulldog athletes. It’s as simple

as becoming a WABC Member. I would like for you to consider our Dog Pound Membership that

provides significant value and gives WABC a solid foundation. The Black & Gold, Golden Bulldog

and VIP Memberships provide an excellent opportunity to advertise your

business or recognize your athlete in the Athletics Program & other venues.

For membership details, see our Membership Form on website or contact

Tim Horgan (tphorgan@verizon.net). For Athletics Program Advertising or

Bulldog Bytes, see the respective Form on the website or contact Debbie Leo

(Debbie@jdsmarketing.com).

Finally, please support WABC sponsored events like the Bulldog Golf Classic,

purchase & wear Spirit Apparel, eat at the Bulldog Concession Stands and offset

expenses by volunteering your time and/or your professional services! Volunteer support is critical to our

success and has made Westfield one of the premier high school sports venues in all of Virginia.

Together, the Westfield community has built a tradition and reputation for excellence. Let’s keep this tradition

alive and well!

Thank you for your support!

GO BULLDOGS!

Christopher J. Mullins, President
