Varsity Indoor Track
* - The Meet was originally scheduled to be at Centreville; it will now be held at Westfield
Use the form to indicate what events you would like to compete in at the meet @ Westfield on Saturday 1/23/20.
Athletes and Parents!
Tomorrow's Meet has been moved to Chantilly HS!
At the bottom of this Announcement, you will find the Meet Entries as of 8:45am.
If there are any errors or omissions, you must make me aware, ASAP. Entries will close by 5pm.
We will conduct our Health Screening at Westfield from 9:00-9:30. You must be screened at Westfield and head directly to Chantilly. If you stop along the way, or miss the screening window, you will not compete. No one will be able to be screened at Chantilly.
Spectators will not be allowed as they are restricted to Home Teams only.
To distance ourselves as much as possible, Westfield athletes will enter by the Basketball Courts and our Team Area will be the Backstretch Bleachers closest to the Concession Stand. Head directly to the Team Area once you have arrived.
Similar to the meet at Westfield, we will be designated a warm-up area on the infield that will be for WESTFIELD ATHLETES ONLY! ALL ATHLETES ARE EXPECTED TO WARM UP IN OUR DESIGNATED AREA AND WILL NOT CROSS OVER OR ENTER ANOTHERS TEAM'S!
Athletes and Parents!
2 spectators per athlete are being allowed to attend and watch the meet. You will enter at the top of the stairs and be screened starting at 10:30. You must wear a mask AT ALL TIMES. Also, you will ONLY be allowed to view the meet from the bleachers located at the top of the hill on the home straight and overlooking the Jumps area. ANY spectators that leave the bleachers and attempt to stand at the fence lining the track, go to the team area, or any other area of the venue other than the bleachers, will be asked to leave.
We will need volunteers to help with events, check in, finish line, etc. We will ask all parent/family members when we screen the athletes in the morning. We will screen any interested parties during the screening window. Be prepared with a mask to wear at all times and plenty of warm clothes. If you are interested, comment on this post and let us know ahead of time! The more the better!
A few important reminders:
Our screening window will be from 9:15 - 9:35. Don't be late!
Bring plenty of warm clothes
Bring blankets, chairs or anything you'd like to sit/spread out on. Our team area is around the 1st curve, so without a blanket or chair, you get to stand or sit on the ground.
Get ready, Bulldogs!
Entries will be due by Thursday 1/7 @ 7pm
Due to the relocation, we are in need of parent volunteers to help with certain aspects of the meet. It would be the only way to be in the venue during the competition. Limited opportunities, but very much needed!

More detailed info about the Meet @ Madison will be forthcoming. For now, the meet will begin at 11:30. You will go to WHS FIRST to be screened, THEN travel to Madison. Loaner uniforms will be provided to those who do not have one yet. Entries and event participation are TBD.
There will be no buses provided to any meet this season. Logistics and safety necessitate a continued overly cautious approach.

*2020 Addendum* - Due to the nature of the restrictions placed on schools and teams during the COVID-19 pandemic such as meet entry limits, facility capacity limits, and the maintenance of an appropriate coach-athlete ratio, the Roster will be limited in size as opposed to seasons prior. Our goal is to provide a safe and healthy environment for our athletes that can also provide meaningful opportunities to compete and excel. See the Team Rules for additional information.
